Have you ever felt Discarded? Trampled? Lonely? Isolated? Dirty? Forgotten? Missing? While leaving the mall from our weekly walking exercise, lying amongst the pavement rubble in the parking lot was this beautiful penny. It was almost as if it beckoned me. As I picked it up, the Lord spoke and said, ‘It is still valuable.’
How often in life have we allowed our circumstances to dictate who we are or how we feel? Just as sure as this penny has witnessed being bypassed, neglected, dropped or uncared for, we too often have potential to feel these same emotions. “The Lord is near to the broken hearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Psalms 34:18
No matter what situations you face today, just know that you are not alone you have the promise of all mighty God who said ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’ Hebrews 13:5.
It is Satan’s job to discourage and confuse. He causes feelings of isolation, loneliness and depression. His mission is to kill, steal and destroy. He is relentless on his attacks of Kingdom citizens and he wreaks havoc and total chaos wherever he is allowed. Take a stand against the enemy and his attacks against you. “From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and the violent people have been taking it by force” Matthew 11:12 (ESB).
If you were this penny lying in the parking lot alone and dirty how would you feel? I imagine this is how many of us feel when we sense conviction of our sin or when we are not in right standing with The Father. It is the pressures of life which can draw us away from our relationship with God however, those same state of affairs should propel us towards Him.
“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” Isaiah 41:10.
A Different Perspective
After picking up the penny I examined it. I saw its dirt, knicks and cuts. Its bruises. Wiped clean, it was placed with other coins in the receptacle kept in my car.
Isn't that just as the love of The Father? He comes to us right where we are when we call out to Him. No matter the condition or what state we are in. He picks us up, wipes our tears, holds us lovingly in His arms and then places us amongst our brothers and sisters where we are safe.
“He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalms 147:3
We ‘regroup’ and get back in the fight. Do not allow the adversary to hinder your fellowship and relationship with the body of Christ.
“But he gives more grace. Therefore, it says God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble” James 4:6.
You are still valuable, highly valuable! The Lord has heard your cry and picked you up.
“Blessed be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble by the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.
What are you sure of?
No matter the trial stand strong in the Lord and the power of His might.
“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord” Psalm 27:13-14.
